America's gun: Sales of AR-15s soar
Thu Apr 25, 2013
The AR-15 has no use in the civilian world. Just a bunch of paranoid people who want to play soldier. Join the army if you want to shoot these kinds of weapons. Hunt? Don't need something with a high fire rate. Self defense? Ditto. What's the reason for buying these things? Afraid of a government ta …
Fast-food workers strike, citing low wages: 'It's not enough'
Thu Apr 4, 2013
I sympathize with these workers although I also don't advocate an unrealistic wage from a business standpoint. Something like $10 or $11 per hour wouldn't be unreasonable if nothing else. Their work is hard even if these aren't skilled positions. I've worked minimum wage jobs in HS and i'm telling y …
Russian nuclear bombers intercepted near Guam
Fri Feb 15, 2013
I'm not a military expert and have never been in the military but I would guess these were flights to do some spying or to test our responses. I wouldn't worry though. There is almost zero chance any large country would go to war with each other. It would practically be suicide.
Arab-American groups say Coke Super Bowl ad is racist
Thu Jan 31, 2013
I watched the commercial clip and didn't see any racism at all. Sure the camel thing could be considered an old fashioned throwback image but there are people in the Middle East that DO have camels and the Arab guy in this commercial isn't portrayed negatively at all. I just don't understand why it' …

Mon Dec 24, 2012

Rumors of plot to sterilize Muslims with polio vaccine spark killings in Pakistan
Thu Dec 20, 2012
It takes time for backward thinking to disappear like in many other countries, including the US. Pakistan and Pakistanis would just have to suffer in the mean time. What else can you say?
Miss USA Olivia Culpo is crowned Miss Universe
Wed Dec 19, 2012
All the women were beautiful but I just can't help noticing that pretty much the top 15 finalists were white or looked near white. This is in no way a knock on the finalists or those who are white but it was not representative of the world at all. I realize it's the decisions of judges and this eve …
Postal Service reports record $15.9 billion loss
Thu Nov 15, 2012
The USPS is vital, especially to remote or rural communities. There are some things you just can't get or do online. For those wanting the USPS shut down, I suppose it's ok if you're willing to pay up the wazoo every time you need to send something or have something sent to you and then getting a bi …
